Descripción
The museum published this poster twice for the same exhibition. The editions differ in that one bears the text relating to the date of the exhibition and information about its opening hours at the bottom of the poster.
The print reproduced on the poster is an aquatint that was completed, along with three others, on 26 May 1968. A series of fifty prints was made from it.
In fact, the present aquatint reveals a splendid nude Venus which the Madame submits to the consideration of her clients: three Spanish noblemen and a figure holding a large staff, a symbol of authority. Picasso’s playful spirit radiates from this work in which he combines power, nobility and money with prostitution.
