Descripción
This poster was designed by Prechtl for the series of six lectures organised by the Nuremberg State Educational Centre and the Albrecht Dürer Society in 1972, which was attended by renowned art experts and Picasso specialists such as Werner Spies, Mafred Schneckenburger, Klaus Galwitz, Wilhelm Puff, Heribert Hutter and Günter Busch.
In this silkscreen, the German artist shows us an aged Picasso, in profile, with all his attractive and powerful personality and his characteristic physical corpulence, although the inescapable evidence of his advanced age is already visible. It is remarkable how Prechtl, although showing us aspects that denote the ageing of the face (wrinkles, crow’s feet, baldness, eroded features), has nevertheless maintained something so characteristic of the master: the singular vitality of his gaze, which he kept intact until the end of his days.
