Copy of the original issue of the newspaper “Le Patriote” with a reproduction of a work by Picasso. As for Picasso’s journalistic work, it is worth mentioning that he drew the covers of local communist newspapers such as Le Patriote, the newspaper of the Communist Party of Nice and the South-East, or related newspapers such as “Combat pour la paix”. The master was particularly prolific as an artist, but also particularly generous towards the Spanish republican cause, disarmament and peace, donating numerous original prints to the communist newspaper on the Côte d’Azur between 1957 and 1967.
