Descripción

This aquatint depicts an erotic scene inside a brothel. Picasso depicts two nude women, full-length, with their backs turned, and behind them, in the foreground on the far right, another woman in profile, also nude, looking at her client, a Spanish gentleman dressed in traditional 16th-century costume, who in turn is looking at the other two women.

The room, which is largely in semi-darkness, is illuminated by a window half-covered by a curtain.

Picasso has achieved a magnificent chiaroscuro effect, rich in nuances, and thick shading with clear shades reminiscent of Rembrandt’s work.
