Description
Painted in 1913, Chagall created his first self-portrait, titled “Self-Portrait with Seven Fingers,” at the age of 25. The image shows the artist working at his easel. It is considered one of his most famous works, painted during his time in Paris in his first studio. When observing the different objects in the painting, they appear as broken shapes, almost like a jigsaw puzzle.
