Description

Neither this poster nor its motif have been reproduced in other posters.

This painting depicts the wonderful mythological world animated by the sweet music of the double flute that enchants the nymph (Françoise?) and the goat. It is an idyllic atmosphere, imbued with peace and sensuality. The nymph, with the body and grace of Françoise, reveals Picasso’s enthusiasm for her. This is the most prosperous period of the Malaga master.

The drawing seems to emerge as if by magic from this hand that continuously produced volumes and spaces of simple and pure lines to recreate a fantasy world.

This work is part of a suite on the same theme, all of them with the same charm and finesse.
